Our Values
We have four core values that we hope to be the center point of everything we do. These things should be reflected in the ways we interact with each other and with the world.
This image illustrates the way our values function together.
At Bismarck Community Church, we have four core values. These four values shape the way we function as a church community.
Our first and most important value is the gospel. The good news that though we are worse than we could imagine, we are more loved in Christ than we would dare to believe. God’s grace is for us who know we need it, so we always try to remember how deeply he loves us.
We know that no matter what we have done or what we think of ourselves, the creator of the universe loves us deeply and is for us. When we believe this, we are free to enter into community with one another. Whatever they may learn about us, the one who holds all things in his hand already knows and has dealt with it. Community is made possible by the gospel and God works in us through community.
Then together we move toward mission. Our church sends mission teams to our community, our region, and to Ethiopia regularly. We are a people who are deeply committed to seeing our world shaped by the God and King who is shaping us.
Every step along the way, whether we are moving toward each other, toward mission, or coming back again to the cross to be shaped by the gospel, we know that we are always growing. We are always changing. This is discipleship. We are committed to never being “good enough.” Because we will always need more of the gospel at work in our lives. We will always return to this core value.
