March 8 Daily Rhythm

Morning
Psalm 87:1-3

On the holy mount stands the city he founded; the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God.

The city of God is spoken so highly of, because it is the seat of Your Glory! There is nothing more beautiful, nothing more important to us than to bask in your glory. This is why Zion is such a magnificent place, because your glory is so great there! Give us a stronger desire to see your glory!

Afternoon
Psalm 87:4-6

Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush— “This one was born there,” they say. And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. The LORD records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.”

Oh to call Zion home! To belong in the place of your glory! God help us to call your home, home. Help us long for your presence and your glory!

Evening
Psalm 87:7

Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.”

Springs are the place where life grows. A spring in a dry and barren land is a place of refuge, greenness, health, and life. The source of all our hopes and rest is the place where the Glory of God is!
