March 15 Daily Rhythm

Morning
Psalm 89:34-37

I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me. Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.”

God has sworn faithfulness to those in Christ. Because of Christ. Because of Christ. Because of Christ. As certain as the moon is his love for you today. Because of Christ. (maybe today we should keep that phrase in mind… Because of Christ.

Afternoon
Psalm 89:38-41

But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed. You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust. You have breached all his walls; you have laid his strongholds in ruins. All who pass by plunder him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.

Dear God, life does not always go well for your people. We are struggling and suffering from time to time. This has always been the case even during the times these Psalms were written. Help us to remember even when things don’t go well. That you will never let go of us – because of Christ.

Evening
Psalm 89:42-45

You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice. You have also turned back the edge of his sword, and you have not made him stand in battle. You have made his splendor to cease and cast his throne to the ground. You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame.

The greatest shame any servant of you ever felt, Lord, was when in flesh, you Jesus, hung naked on the cross. You faced undeserved mockery, pain, and humiliation. You were abandoned by all who loved you, even the father turned his back away because of the sin and shame you bore. You bore mine there Jesus. This great shame was my shame. This humiliation was mine. This was to rescue me. I am loved – Because of Christ.
