Morning
Psalm 82:1-4

God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Oh God, give us hearts that desire justice like you do. The apostle was right when he said we have all gone astray. Give us new hearts that pursue justice in our city and ask for it from your gracious hand.

Afternoon
Psalm 82:5-7

They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”

Father, there are those we admire who we lift up and even seek to imitate. These are all men and women like us. Made in your image, but also dust. You are the holy beginning and end. You are the alpha and omega. Be first in our hearts forever. where you belong!

Evening
Psalm 82:8

Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!

God, we thank you that you are the ruler of the heavens and the earth. Thank you that every king, chief, prime minister, premier, and president is under your good rule. Come quickly to judge them and all their peoples. And help us rest tonight knowing that you will not tarry forever.
