Day 2-Make New
As we are getting ready to wrap up day 2 I wanted to take some time and let all of you know what we have been up to. We arrived in Spearfish on Saturday evening about 5:30PM, checked into our beautiful cabins(if you ever have the desire to head that direction, check into these), swam for awhile, ate dinner, and had some recreational time. We all hit the sack around 10:30pm or so(or that was the plan, some couldn’t fall asleep until 4am;)). We woke up around 6:30am Sunday and hit the road for Loveland. We arrived at our destination about 3pm, checked in, ate dinner, played for a bit, worshipped, AND went to bed at 10pm!! This morning we woke up at 6:30am, ate breakfast, participated in morning worship, and hit our jobsites. Our BCC team is divided up into 2 teams and each team consists of 2 boys and 2 girls. Today Ashlee’s team worked outside in the 112 degree weather. We worked in a small low-income elderly community and took part in jobs such as cleaning patios, raking leaves, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, etc. Scott’s team worked at a Boy’s and Girl’s club. They really enjoyed hanging with the kids and feeding them lunch. This evening we ate a wonderful spaghetti dinner (prepared by our Oregon roomates), and our BCC cleaned up the facility. Each group is assigned to a job during the week and ours was to clean bathrooms, hallways, lunchroom, etc. Some of you have kids that LOVE to clean toilets!! We are currently getting ready for nightly devotions and bed, if you want to talk to your child you can email them (my address), or call them. The best time is between 3:30-5 and 7:45-9pm. Stay tuned for more, we are having a wonderful time and God is working in the lives of these kids!!
