Morning
Psalm 49:16-20

Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him. For though, while he lives, he counts himself blessed —and though you get praise when you do well for yourself—his soul will go to the generation of his fathers, who will never again see light. Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

This does not mean wealth is evil. It means trusting in wealth is fruitless. There is a greater praise than wealth, and there is joy that many rich never find. Pray today for true and lasting joy.

Afternoon
Psalm 50:1-6

The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth. Our God comes; he does not keep silence; before him is a devouring fire, around him a mighty tempest. He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people: “Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!” The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge!

This afternoon, trust in God. Praise him. The glories of life, are his gift to enjoy. Pray that you will maintain the right balance in the objects you worship. He is FIRST.

Evening
Psalm 50:7-11

“Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God. Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me. I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.

Make no mistake, everything you offer to God is already his (and more). What he desires is your heart. Give him that this evening.
