April 2 Daily Rhythm

Morning
Psalm 94:14-15

For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Yesterday was Easter. If we ever needed any proof that You do not give up. It was a cross and an empty grave. Forgive us for thinking we are super important. Forgive us for acting as though our thoughts words and actions will ever make us enough. help us rest in your finished work Jesus.

Afternoon
Psalm 94:16-18

Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up.

We try to stand up for ourselves. We slip and fall down and get over run. Jesus be the lion and stand up to our enemies. and defend us against all who would destroy us.

Evening
Psalm 94:19-23

When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute? They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge. He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the LORD our God will wipe them out.

Oh God, this world is a place where everything feels off. Injustice, selfishness, all of us looking out for our own interests. Sometimes we feel like characters in mad max. Jesus, come quickly. Create in us a hunger for your return and the new creation. Let this be the ache that we feel when we lie down tonight. We know we will long for something. We may as well have a hunger than can be satisfied.
