Advent Day 2

Gen 3:15
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
There is trouble in paradise.  Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan tells us, “the line it is drawn, the curse it is cast.”
We feel the effects of the curse everyday.  Whether through death, through loss, through suffering.  The curse haunts humanity.
This year some of us have lost friends.  Some have lost confidence in news.  Some of us have lost confidence in the democracy we thought was secure.  We have even lost confidence in our modern western healthcare systems to keep up with the needs of our society.
Perhaps these things were never actually worthy of our confidence.
There is an ancient promise that our creator will restore us.
Have you put too much confidence in places other than our creator?
Prayer
Creator God, you have promised to bruise the head of the serpent.  I have often hoped in other places to numb the pain of the snake bites I have suffered.  Help me to place all of my confidence in you alone for restoration and healing.
