Advent Day 16

Hebrews 12:22-24
…you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
In our weekly staff meeting this week some of us were sharing a few of our concerns and struggles.  I hope you have a place to be hipness about things you are struggling with.  It’s a hard year in a lot of ways for many of us, and we need a safe place to be vulnerable and honest.
As people shared their concerns, this passage came to mind.  Consider for a moment what we get to participate in.  Consider who and WHOSE we are.  Think through the list of things above that we have “come to.”
It overwhelms me the depth of mercy and the gift of goodness that is ours in Christ.
Prayer
Father of great mercies, i know what I am, and I know what I have done.  Despite this you have invited me to participate in a feast with angels and saints.  Not my my virtue and goodness but by the gift of mercy and grace in Christ Jesus.  Thank you!
